International Workshop on "Advances in Healthcare Applications based on RFID technology"
Nowadays healthcare brings to the foreground the necessity of equipment and services for independent and more autonomous living of patients, through the integration of low cost and reliable ICT solutions within their homes and residences. This results in increasing the quality of their everyday life and autonomy, and reducing their need to be continuously monitored by formal or informal carers.
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and its unique characteristics make it clear that its adaptation to healthcare can not only increase the autonomy of high risk groups, but also reduces cost and improves efficiency by tracking asset and people, as well as reducing medical errors and ensuring patient safety.
In this context we invite researchers, to present their original, high-impact research papers on RFID-related topics.
Topics covered (but not limited to):
Implantable Sensors tags
Patient monitoring in diverse environments (hospitals, assisted living)
Antenna and system design for biomedical applications
Performance Analysis near/in biological fluids and tissues
Ensuring Patient Safety
Indoor and Outdoor applications for Ambient Assisted Living environments
RFID devices for the Internet of Things in biomedical applications
Security and privacy-preserving protocols
Supply and Asset Management
